A personal documentary about a public subject, My Father\'s Vietnam personifies the connections made and unmade by the Vietnam War. Featuring never-before-seen photographs and 8mm footage of the era, My Father\'s Vietnam is the story of three soldiers, only one of whom returned home alive. Interviews with the filmmaker\'s Vietnam Veteran father, and the friends and family members of two men he served with who were killed there, give voice to individuals who continue to silently carry the psychological burdens of a war that ended over 40 years ago. My Father\'s Vietnam carries with it the potential to encourage audiences to broach the subjects of service and sacrifice with the veterans in their lives.
1954. Having worked as a salesman most of his adult life, Ray Kroc has been a hustler in most senses of the word. That hustling has made him the target of derision among certain circles for peddling what have ended up being more novelty or faddish than useful products, but it has also placed more than a comfortable roof in Arlington Heights, Illinois over his and his wife Ethel\'s heads. Ethel, however, wishes that he placed as much effort into being at home with her than he is in selling, his current job of peddling five-spindle milkshake makers for Prince Castle which has him constantly on the road going from one drive-in restaurant to another. It is because of the beefs he has with the whole drive-in experience (bad food, bad service) in constantly eating at such establishments while on the road that he becomes enthralled with the concept of McDonald\'s Restaurant in San Bernardino, California, it owned and operated by brothers Richard McDonald and Maurice McDonald - Dick and Mac. Unlike most of Ray\'s customers who will only require one five-spindle milkshake maker at any given time, the McDonald brothers end up purchasing eight machines for their single restaurant. Primarily on Dick\'s initiative, the brothers have redesigned the whole concept of the drive-in restaurant to focus on quality food through a smaller menu of only the most popular items (hamburgers, fries, sodas), consistency in product so that customers know what to expect from time to time, change in the target market from lounging teenagers to families, and perhaps most importantly speed in having any order ready within seconds, many of these goals achievable through assembly line styled production. They had tried franchising previously, but failed in that they lost control over many of those aspects which made their San Bernardino restaurant successful. Despite believing Ray a bit off kilter (in other words, crazy), the McDonald brothers somewhat hesitantly enter into a contract with him to be their head of franchising. Ray\'s experience in the job is not without its problems, especially as his franchisees seem to be making more money than he is, he who is only breaking even. He is not averse to advancing ideas provided to him to get ahead - original ideas which are not his forte - he seeing the brothers as his biggest problem in they thinking small. These differences lead to a standoff between Ray and the brothers, the former who has a different goal for \"his\" business in profit and stoking his own ego seemingly his main priorities.

Liverpool music from the post war years to the present day. Liverpool is one of the most vibrant cities in the world. The film puts into context the musical outpourings of nearly 60 years of world conquering music and the hundreds of bands who have contributed to a musical scene that produced the world\'s greatest band - The Beatles. What might not always be understood is that in that golden period of 1956 - 1964, Liverpool played host to over 1000 bands and hundreds of venues. It was the home of the UK\'s largest Country & Western scene, of a hundred skiffle bands, jazz bands and folk. Toxteth was the centre of the black music scene and influences poured in from the docks and the nearby US Airbase. A melting pot of energy and talent - something had to give and it did - bigger than anything that had gone before. How do you follow that? Well, with some years of quiet waters, Liverpool was ready to set sail again to conquer the world. Matthew Street was at the heart of things again and another scene was created out of yet another cellar - Eric\'s nightclub - with bands such as Deaf School, Echo and the Bunnymen and OMD leading the charge. But the City hadn\'t finished there. Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the Farm and the La\'s. There was Cream and Biscuits - well half a biscuit, and half a man - dance and surrealism and still it hasn\'t stopped. With Wombats, Zutons and Coral, the Liverpool scene keeps on reinventing itself. There are many featured bands, not named here.

The film does an outstanding job of laying out the many ways women are disadvantaged in the United States under the Constitution. Using facts, figures, interviews, colorful graphics, news footage and occasional humor, the audience is led through current challenges to wage parity, legal protections, maternity leave, ending violence and poverty. The argument is clear and compelling. It\'s provocative but avoids man-bashing as it makes the case for why men and women should be fighting to get the Equal Rights Amendment passed.

Narrated by Tom Selleck: Sunday, December 7, 1941 was a beautiful morning on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. A few sailors and soldiers were already up and playing a game of football near Pearl Harbor. Others were sleeping in their barracks or aboard ships after a late night of partying in Honolulu. An unlucky few were wiping the sleep from their eyes and reporting for duty aboard their ship anchored off Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. Still others headed for adjacent Hickam Field or up north to Wheeler Field. Ship decks were being washed, planes wiped down and hangars swept. It was just another day in paradise. At 7:48 A.M. all that changed as the first Japanese planes dropped their bombs and started firing their guns at stunned American soldiers and sailors. The United States had been violently thrown into World War II. Every sailor, airman, soldier and civilian who was in or near Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 has their own individual story of courage, fear, heroics or tragedy. No two stories from that day of infamy are the same. From sailors on the U.S.S Arizona and West Virginia on Battleship Row to pilots at Hickam and Wheeler Fields, to young children who were waved at by Japanese pilots flying over their homes, the memories remain vivid to this day. These are some of their stories from December 7, 1941. They will always Remember Pearl Harbor.

In 1930, Germany was awarded the privilege of hosting the 1936 Olympic Games. However, that gesture to bring Germany back into the world community became problematic when the Nazis took over the nation in 1933, both domestically and internationally. However, a reticent Hitler was persuaded to let the event proceed for his own purposes even as the international sporting world wrestled with the moral choice of attending. What followed from those moral struggles was a tournament originally intended to foster international brotherhood being twisted into a nationalistic celebration of supposed German Aryan superiority that even the legendary athletic triumphs of African-American Olympic great Jesse Owens could not puncture completely.
